Mindful Eating & Neurofeedback
Mindful Eating & Neurofeedback Program
Is your teen struggling with:
- Unhealthy relationships with food?
- Body image concerns?
- Emotional eating?
- Lack of focus or concentration?
- Stress-related eating habits?
What is Mindful Eating?
Mindful Eating is an approach taught by a Certified Mental Health and Nutrition Specialist, aiming to help individuals develop a more balanced and healthy relationship with food. This program combines nutrition education with mindfulness techniques to promote healthier eating habits and improved overall well-being.
How Mindful Eating and Neurofeedback Work Together:
The combination of Mindful Eating techniques and Neurofeedback creates a synergistic effect. While Mindful Eating helps teens develop conscious eating habits and a healthier relationship with food, Neurofeedback supports brain regulation, potentially enhancing focus, helping reduce impulsivity, and improving emotional regulation. This integrated approach addresses multiple aspects of eating patterns.

Program Options
Early Adolescent DBT and Neurofeedback (Ages 12-14):
Introduces basic concepts of nutrition and mindful eating: Learn to tune into your body's natural hunger and fullness cues, rather than relying on external rules or emotional eating. Neurofeedback can help strengthen self-awareness and impulse control around food.
Focuses on building a positive body image: Improve body image, self-acceptance, and appreciation for the capabilities of your growing body, rather than fixating on appearance. Neurofeedback can assist with improving self-concept through brain training.
Assists with building a healthy relationship with food: Develop a balanced, non-judgmental attitude toward different foods and let go of problematic eating patterns. Neurofeedback can assist with regulating emotions centered around food.
Late Adolescent Mindful Eating and Neurofeedback (Ages 15-18)
- Intuitive Eating Mastery: Deepen your ability to honor your body’s signals, make mindful food choices, and develop a peaceful, empowered relationship with nourishment. Advanced neurofeedback techniques can further enhance this mind-body connection.
- Addresses more complex issues around food, body image, and social pressures: Navigating Social Situations: Build strategies to eat mindfully and confidently in various social contexts, like school cafeterias, restaurants, or parties. Neurofeedback can enhance cognitive abilities, confidence, and emotional regulation.
- Develops advanced mindfulness skills for stress management and emotional eating.
- Life-Long Wellness: Establish sustainable healthy habits and a positive, empowered relationship with food that can carry over into adulthood. Neurofeedback reinforces these foundations for holistic wellbeing.
